Bridal Veil Falls Scenic Point is the perfect introduction to the beauty and grandeur of the Columbia River Gorge. The park’s two short trails (each less than 1 mile) make it possible for families with younger kids to have access to incredible views of the Columbia River, the gorge’s temperate rainforests, and one of the area’s most remarkable waterfalls.
At 120 feet, Bridal Veil Falls is a sight to behold. Use one of the packet’s two maps to access views of the falls. The other map in the packet will take you along a paved overlook trail, where you’ll have multiple opportunities to gaze up and down the Columbia River and across, to Washington, where you’ll see some of the Gorge’s most distinctive basalt walls.
With the stickers, kids can go on a scavenger hunt along these trails for mushrooms, squirrels, slugs, and other forest wonders.
The hands-on Field Guide for this adventure packet has been specially designed to help kids learn all about the Columbia River Gorge. Discover how the Gorge was formed and learn how “elephants tall” Multnomah Falls is.
Created to help kids better understand the impact of recent wildfires, this Field Guide also includes material about wildfire safety, and how the areas in the Gorge affected by recent wildfires are beginning to recover.
All materials are hand-illustrated. Maps and stickers are waterproof. Perfect for kids ages 4-11. Packet is designed to be used all year round.
Trails Location: Columbia River Gorge, Oregon
For wheelchair access use the Overlook Trail Map
