This week marks our one year anniversary since we launched Super Nature Adventures. We want to take this moment to say thank you! When we came up with the idea for Super Nature Adventures, we had no idea if our particular vision for kids’ nature materials would resonate.
In an app-filled world of games and ironic memes, we felt like we were taking a bit of a risk in crafting tactile, hands-on materials that openly embraced that infectious sense wonder that kids have in the natural world, and the silly sense of humor that adults tend to be “too mature” to appreciate. It brings us so much joy to see kids connecting to nature through the materials we create.
Your kids have taught us so much about the world. We’ve loved getting to know them through this creative process of exploring the world at their level.
From the kids who show us how to feel adventurous on a group hike, to the ones who remind us there’s no rush, to the ones that remind us to stop, look down, and appreciated the tiniest of nature: your kids are the ones that motivate us most.
The monthly subscription has always been heart of what we do, and will continue to be in the year ahead.
We believe in the value of getting outside into nature regularly, and will continue to celebrate all the big and small joys that every season offers.
We are going to keep making the monthly subscriptions special to honor each and every place that we explore. And we are working on some ideas for making the monthly subscription even better for this community over the coming months ahead.
We also have a goal of widening our reach of materials with a few packets for the broader region, focusing especially the Columbia River Gorge. Last year’s Columbia River Gorge fire was a powerful reminder not to take the wonders of this region for granted. We hope that the materials we make for these special places can play a role in instilling a sense of stewardship of these places as the next generation grows into adulthood.
Thank you once again for being a part of this community and helping to make it a success!
