January is a great time for new beginnings, whether you are a "Resolutions" person or not. The fact that it's a New Year makes it a good time for reflection and starting anew.
This January, as you begin to set your intentions for 2018, we hope that more time in nature with family is one of your goals.
Don’t just take it from us. Study after study shows the benefits of nature for both kids and adults.
For kids, outdoor time is proven to encourage creativity and problem solving skills. Time in nature can help improve concentration, physical agility, and sustained intellectual development. Studies have also shown that kids who spend lots of time in nature are more likely to care for their environment as adults.
For grown-ups, nature is proven to reduce stress and energize. Recent studies have even suggested that outdoor time can extend your life because of its immune boosting and mental health benefits.
Plus, when you are outside together as a family - whether hiking or simply playing in your neighborhood or yard - you also get the added opportunity to bond and make memories. And for kids, this family time together can be absolutely vital in helping them kids tackle their own daily challenges out with a greater sense of love and support.
