Trees are such a vital part of the Pacific Northwest. In this trail packet, learn all about how trees play a role in forest habitats. support. Tryon Creek's lush second growth forest makes it the ideal place to turn this exploration into a real adventure.
For the scavenger map, we chose a 1.4 mile trail loop that passes by several distinctive stumps as it travels over the creek and back. Kids can use the scavenger stickers to mark such forest discoveries as slugs, woodpeckers, squirrels, and snails.
We include lots of activities in our Field Guide to encourage kids to get up close to those trees and think about their textures, scents, and all the ways they support the forest habitats. We also include information about forest creatures that depend on trees to help kids learn about how forest life is interconnected.
Available with one or two sets of stickers.
